| Apart from the series of tutored wine tastings you can visit an historic château, such as the fourteenth century Château de Morlanne or perhaps the Château d'Amou, here on the right. | ![]() |

A vineyard visit is always illuminating. One can actually see the vines and the winery and then fully understand the process of making wine. A very pretty example is Domaine de Cabidos in the Pyrenées-Atlantiques, which has recently been replanted. The winery has first-rate equipment and together with low yields this enables excellent wine to be made in an undiscovered region of France. |
Optional extras are golf and thermal spa treatments, both of which can be enjoyed at Eugénie-les-Bains. The attractive golf course has 9 holes, is par 35 and 2731m in length. Further afield there is the 18 hole course at Pau, which has the distinction of being the oldest golf course on the Continent, dating from 1856. The clubhouse is based on the one in Calcutta which in turn was inspired by the orignal at St Andrews. Clubs and a trolley are available to rent on both courses. |

| The spa treatments use the beneficial water
at Eugénie and are particularly good for rheumatism. The thermal
'Plant Itinerary' is more relaxing whilst the thermal 'Mineral Itinerary'
is more penetrating. You will also be offered a choice of specially concocted
herbal teas to revive you. |
